Field Trips
• NMMS had its 3rd organized Field Trip (foray) on June 19th,
visiting areas in the Jemez near La Cueva. It was dry, but we weren't
skunked.
• There is another Field Trip tentatively planned for July
17th (the day before our Santa Fe potluck).
• Field Trip schedules and reports are available at mycowest.org.
50th Anniversary
Foray of the
North American Mycological Association
•
Dates: August 12-15, 2010
Place: Winter Park, Colorado (west of Denver)
• NAMA Forays feature numerous Classes, Workshops, and Field
Trips. Those wishing to learn about the diversity of mushrooms should not
pass up this wonderful opportunity.
•
I know of three New Mexico members who have signed up for this event. If
you are a New Mexico NMMS or NAMA member planning to attend, please contact
David Wallis. Carpooling might be
in order, and I will do what I can to coordinate that.

Communicating with NMMS Membership
It is becoming increasingly apparent that Mycorizon, the NMMS
Newsletter, ceased to exist at the end of last year.
(The last issue was Nov-Dec 2009).
We will continue to rely on Websites to keep our membership informed.
•
MycoWest.org is the website
which has supported NMMS for the last decade and still serves this
function.
•
Jonathan Caldwell and his son Adam have put
considerable work into designing and bringing to life a new website
for NMMS: NewMexicoMyco.org.
About the new site, Jonathan explains, "We hope this site will provide an
interactive element to our
club's online presence. This site is not designed to replace mycowest.org,
but to augment it. Some functions of this site, such as the photo gallery,
are still under development and will become available as they are refined."
Because NewMexicoMyco.org
specifically represents the New Mexico Mycological Society, full access to
this new site will be limited to currently paid members of NMMS.
• Details about NewMexicoMyco.org, including
instructions for logging in, are available at (you guessed it)
mycowest.org.
