NMMS Meetings

    Santa Fe

April 19 - The next meeting of the New Mexico Mycological Society will be on Sunday, April 19th, 4-6 pm, at the Loma Encantada Clubhouse in Santa Fe. This gathering will include a Potluck dinner, followed by Terri Wallis' explanation of why it's easier to talk about, than to find, Morels in New Mexico.

June 20 - The Railyard Stewards have invited us to present a talk at the Railyard Park in Santa Fe. NMMS member Chris Kerns has kindly offered to discuss his mushroom cultivation techniques at this event. We expect this gathering to go from 10am to noon. Afterward, some members may want to head uphill for an afternoon foray.
    We will provide directions and additional information as we get closer to the event.

September 19 - For this meeting, we will return to the Loma Encantada Clubhouse for another Potluck and program. We have invited Truffle expert Michael Castellano to help us get in touch with our inner squirrels.

    Albuquerque

May 5 - All other meetings scheduled (so far) for this year will be at the Natural History Museum in Albuquerque, the next of which will be on May 5th from 7-9 pm. Chris Kerns will present a talk about cultivation (similar to the program mentioned above for the June 20th meeting).

Field Trips
    I mentioned at the March meeting that we would have a Field Trip schedule available on the NMMS Members' Forum. I posted dates and description pages, although some of the outings are tentative. Remember that the Forum provides a place for any NMMS member to suggest or organize a field trip. To view or add to the field trip list, log in to the Forum and click on "Field Trips" on the top menu.
    Participation on NMMS field trips is a benefit of NMMS membership and thus limited to NMMS members.

NMMS Annual Foray
    The Foray Committee had a good start on planning for this year's Foray, but we still have a few details to iron out before we determine the Foray fee and finalize the Registration Form. The important details are that we will hold the event at Sipapu Ski Resort from 20-23 August (2o15).

NAMA Foray
    The North American Mycological Association's Annual Foray will be in Black Mountain, NC (near Asheville) September 24-27. Visit www.namyco.org for more information.
