Newsletter
At the October meeting I brought up my thoughts about cutting down on the
quantity of Newsletters I mail out. For three years I have managed to
publish eleven editions a year, and have mailed a copy to every
NMMS member. During this time I have also had the Newsletter
available on the World Wide Web, and I have been sending an electronic
copy to a growing number of members with Email.
Some members have told me directly that receiving only the Email
copy would be fine with them. So last month, I finally addressed the
subject. The members' response, though not unanimous, was largely in favor
of mailing the Newsletter only to those without Email. I had not asked for
a motion, and was not looking for a vote, but I have based my decision on
that response. Beginning either in December, or more likely January, I will mail out
Newsletters only to those members without Email. I will also send a
copy to those with Email who inform me that they would like a snail-mail
version as well. I have no problem accommodating those with this
preference. I estimate that this change will save the club $150 or more
per year.
