New Mexico Mycological Society
February 2001
.
Our meeting on February 6th will be at 7:30pm at the Natural History Museum Annex. (Yes, the
Annex again, but only for this month.) The program will be a somewhat
unusual rendition of a NAMA slide presentation: Michael Beug's
Morels, Truffles and Other Spring Fungi.
January Board Meeting
The main topic of discussion at our January meeting was this year's Foray. We
came up with a half dozen or so possible sites, and then discussed the pros and
cons of each. We have no decision yet on the location, but the dates will
probably be August 16-19.
Dues
Quite a few members still need to submit their dues for 2001. The annual dues
for NMMS are now $20 and the cost for NAMA membership (which is now optional for
NMMS members) is an additional $32. Those who still owe can pay at the February
Meeting or send a check, payable to NMMS, to
Sharon Chong,
6336 Mendius NE, ABQ 87109-4126.
The amount of the check should be either
$52 to cover both NMMS and NAMA memberships or
$20 to cover only NMMS membership.
NAMA Foray .
It's not too soon to sign up for the NAMA Foray, being held this year
outside Minneapolis on July 5-8. The Foray is hosted my the Minnesota
Mycological Society (over a hundred years old), and our beloved Tom Volk will be
the head Mycologist. Visit the
NAMA Website for details and links, or contact David Wallis if you
prefer.
