Mycological Field Trip
Jemez - Pajarito Ski Area
Saturday, 17 July 2010
Details:
Field Trip will begin at 10:30 and will continue through
mid-afternoon.
Bring a lunch.
Field Trip will begin at the Pajarito
Mountain Ski Area near Los Alamos.
Areas to be visited will be around 9000-9500 ft.
Our visit will focus on the Caņada Bonita (Quemazon) Trail,
which begins just past (west of) the bottom of the Aspen Lift at Pajarito
and heads roughly ENE from the Ski Area (Camp May) road.
We will meet near the bottom of the Aspen Lift at the Pajarito
Mountain Ski Area at 10:30. I believe there is some parking available on
the right (north) side of the road a little past the upper end of the lower
parking area. Plan to park there.
Leaders: David & Terri
Wallis.
Please notify David
Wallis if
you plan to participate.
Fungi:
This area produces and amazing diversity of fungi–when conditions
are right. If there are no fungi, we will talk about
habitat, and it's always a great walk.
Equipment:
Sturdy footwear and plenty of drinking water.
Raingear is always a good idea.
